Disco Inferno by Julie Richey. Italian smalti, 24k gold smalti and millefiori on mixed media base. 4.5 x 10 x 4.5 inches each shoe. The pair: $1200 USD.

These mosaic shoes give new life to an infamous pair of disco mules. Once covered in red fake fur, they have traveled far and have been a part of many costumes: witch, butterfly, and “ancient Roman lady of the evening.” It’s now fitting that they be immortalized as icons of the disco era. They're embellished with bright-hot blue and orange flames, a reminder that they (and the wearers, both male and female, gay and straight) once burned up the dance floor.
