BON ROTLLO

Mixed media glass and ceramic mosaic with millefiori.

Created for a Spanish restaurant in Dallas, the wall was inspired by elementary school students' portraits made in a Picasso style.

The kids' drawings were passed around to local mosaic artists, who used them as inspiration to translate the drawings into large mosaic panels.

Although the restaurant no longer exists, the mosaics were saved thanks to a semi-permanent installation method. Panels were originally installed with screws and matching black caulk, making de-installation a simple process.
