Make your mark.
Participants in the March, 2017 Mosaics in Mexico tour and workshop created "El Sueno de La Rana," designed by host Anado McLauchlin. The mosaic is in the entryway of the compound and is seen by hundreds of visitors each month, who come from around the world to visit the site.
Join us for 7 nights and 8 days of mosaic magic.
The beautiful colonial-style town of San Miguel de Allende is the backdrop of our next Mosaics in Mexico adventure. Lodging is at the cozy, historic Casa Contenta in the center of San Miguel. Each day after breakfast, we'll head to La Cieneguita for the daily workshops. Your work will embellish Casa de Las Ranas, home of sculptor Anado McLauchlin and art historian Richard Schultz and an internationally recognized mosaic garden gallery visited by thousands each year. We’ve blocked out plenty of time for sight seeing, and shopping, as workshops end at 3 each day. Evenings are free to relax and explore. A welcome dinner and closing celebration dinner party are included in the cost of the workshop. All breakfasts at Casa Contenta and delicious catered lunches on site at Casa de Las Ranas are included.
Participants will work as a team to create mosaic portraits of the beloved rescue dogs adopted by Anado and Richard over the past decade. An exciting new structure on the property has been held in reserve for our project, and ours is the only team invited each year to hold workshops on site. Expert instruction, mosaic materials, wonderful meals, lodging and transportation during the workshop are included. See below for details on what is included in the workshop price. We’ve reserved the final full day for optional excursions and special presentations in the workshop room at Casa Contenta. Take a spa day. Visit a local pyramid or an indigenous art and craft gallery. Indulge in a day of browsing the local shops. Our final night will be a celebration with Anado, Richard and you —- the amazing artists who helped create the next masterpiece.
Price is USD $1800 for double occupancy. A limited number of single rooms are available for a $585 USD supplemental charge. Airfare to Queretaro (QRO) or Leon (BJX) and airport transportation are not included. For questions and registration information, please submit the form below, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join us for an unforgettable creative experience. Julie Richey and Ana Foncerrada are experienced instructors and tour coordinators who see to every detail, from charming historic lodging to incredible meals and cultural sites.
